Karla started her career in the hospitality industry at the Prairie Star in Saint Paul Minnesota. Her first job was dishwasher and barista. Her mentor, Teresa Connor, recognized her potential managing and charisma for front of the house, so she pushed her to overcome her language barrier. Karla excelled not only in English but also in daily store operations. Her charm with guests and purveyors quickly awarded her the position of manager. From this experience grew in her a passion for the restaurant industry which inspired her to open her first small restaurant in Chiquimula, Guatemala. The town of Chiquimula wasn’t big enough for her ambitions, so she decides to continue her travels and after spending a couple of years in Europe, she settles in Guatemala City. For a while she manages and recruits staff for bilingual customer service companies, but in 2014, she opens with her brother Alberto the new Angeline restaurant which is named after their grandmother Angelina Moscoso Cardona de Blanco. Karla is the current general manager of Angeline and she can always be found chatting and laughing with guests, or maybe baking some sweets in the kitchen!
